Back to your space
I’m fearfully and wonderfully made.
I don’t need somebody else’s face, body, or personality to matter.
What this means for me
Psalm 139 is a prayer of wonder at God’s intimate knowledge and creative care. “Fearfully” here expresses awe, not a reason to be afraid of my body. I can recognise that I am made with care without pretending every part of how I feel about myself is easy.
A photo, a comment, or an edited feed cannot tell the whole truth about me. Respecting my body can mean resting, eating, moving in ways that suit me, and asking for help with painful body-image thoughts. My appearance is not the price of belonging.
A little truth to hold onto
“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”— Psalm 139:14 · KJVRead in context ↗
