Your safe little space
Back to your space

I’m chosen.

My belonging in Christ isn’t decided by who picks me, texts me back, or lets me into their group.

What this means for me

Peter wrote these words to a community of believers. Being chosen is not a claim that I’m better than anyone else; it means God’s people belong to him and are called to reflect his goodness. I don’t have to win a popularity contest to be part of that story.

Being left out still hurts. This truth gives me room to acknowledge the hurt without turning it into “Nobody could ever want me.” I can look for safe friendships and a caring faith community where belonging is lived out, not just talked about.

A little truth to hold onto

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”
